The Montana Restaurant Association became affiliated with the Montana Retail Association in 1996. Since then, the Restaurant Association (MTRA) has grown to over 200 members and encompasses all facets of the foodservice industry from quick serve to fine dining to institutional organizations and suppliers of the industry.

The MTRA also has an Education Foundation whose mission is to educate your current and future workforce. To help educate current workforce employees, we offer ServSafe Food and ServSafe Alcohol training. To help educate our future workforce, we sponsor the ProStart program in high schools across Montana which teaches both culinary and management skills.

When you join the Montana Restaurant Association, you also become a dual member in the National Restaurant Association (NRA). The NRA is ranked in the top 15 lobbying groups in Washington, DC by Fortune Magazine. Membership in the NRA includes incredible resources to help operators train employees in all facets of food service.

The dual membership in the NRA includes a subscription to The Washington Weekly, a publication dedicated to weekly updates on issues in Washington, DC. The NRA’s monthly magazine called Restaurants USA is available on-line. It is full of useful information to help improve your operation. Members also enjoy access to a huge library of educational materials through the NRA Educational Foundation.
